St Kilda's Paddy McCartin has been ruled out of this weekend's clash with Essendon after suffering his third concussion of the season.
After clashing with fellow Saint Tim Membrey early on in the Saints' loss to Gold Coast, many are questioning the immediate future of the young key forward.
Fox Footy’s Jonathan Brown is one of several media personalities pleading with St Kilda to rest McCartin for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Senior coach Alan Richardson was hesitant to speculate on the future of the 20-year old.
"It'll be up to the doctors and the medicos. They'll do everything necessary to make sure he's right to play or not," Richardson said.
"It's hard to speculate because I don't really know."
St Kilda ruckman Billy Longer is also a concern for the club, as he is currently experiencing side effects from a concussion in May.
