Jade Gresham, one of the heroes of St Kilda's massive upset AFL win over Geelong, has won a Rising Star nomination.
The small forward kicked one of the contenders for goal of the year with his freakish snap in the last quarter on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.
Gresham's goal brought the Saints to within three points and moments later Jack Steven soccered through another to put them in front.
The Saints then held on for five minutes to score their finest win so far under coach Alan Richardson.
Gresham had 16 disposals and was one of St Kilda's best players.
The Saints recruited him with the first-round pick 18 in last year's draft and he has played 10 games since his round-one debut.
"His performance on Saturday night demonstrated the type of composed and aggressive player that he is, with his goal in the last moments ... being just one obvious example of his composure," Richardson said.
"Gresham was one of a few young players on Saturday night that showed real signs of improvement against a more experienced Geelong side."
