St Kilda has put an offer on the table for Fremantle's Lachie Weller.
The Saints offered their newly acquired pick 14 for the 19-year-old, though Fremantle quickly refused to deal.
It is believed Weller is open to a move, which would see him reunited with his older brother Maverick and close friend Hugh Goddard.
The speedy midfielder was drafted with pick 13 in the 2014 National Draft and played three games this season, starting as the substitute twice.
Fremantle has failed to secure GWS forward Cameron McCarthy due to the Giants' firm stance on his future.
One would assume the Saints' first round pick would assist in breaking the deadlock.
The AFL Trade Period officially concludes tomorrow at 2pm AEST.
