Jake Carlisle is set to announce his desire to be traded to St Kilda, according to various sources.
Both the AFL and the Herald Sun have reported that the defender will announce the long awaited decision as early as tomorrow morning.
Rumours have speculated that the Saints will offer Carlisle over $700,000 a year on a five year contract, and will primarily play him as a defender.
St Kilda and Essendon will need to work out a trade for Carlisle's move to be successful, with St Kilda's first round pick this year or next year being considered.
It is believed St Kilda interviewed Carlisle regarding his worth ethic, attitude and ability to attend training considering the distance between his home town and Seaford.
Carlton and the Western Bulldogs were also heavily interested in signing Carlisle, though several meetings with St Kilda this week limited their time with the 24-year-old.
More to come following Carlisle's official announcement.
